Questionable movies that she used as inspirations. The only reason why MHJ gets away with everything above is because she's a woman. And you're right: if MHJ had humbly said she took inspiration for NJ's concept from retro media and ILLIT is just following the 90s/2000s trend, it would be fine and no one would be bothered. I just hate how people think every minimalist concept group = NJs, am not a fan of NJs so as an outsider I thought their concept was 2yk street juvenile, like if S.E.S and Weeekly had a baby, while this groups that I just discover Illit is totally dreamy and "pure" like a combination of Gfriend, Kara, GWSM. I laughed when I heard rabbits claiming NewJeans were being mitreated when they're undoubtedly the most privileged group in kpop. Imagine being called BTS'S sisters, getting luxury brand deals not even 6 months into your careers, and so much more. Lesserafim didn't get that privilege. The only mistreated group in a Hybe subsidiary is Fromis_9. These people are so delusional 😭

I have a feeling the next group the Newjeans fans are gonna target is gonna be the new Hybe American girl group Katseye. Because when their teaser for the debut song that just dropped tonight was released I was on Twitter and I saw tweets from Newjeans fans talking about “ugh Hybe really keeps stealing from Newjeans!” But like Katseye is definitely very different from what I saw in the teaser.

I keep saying that if you were confusing Illit for Newjeans, you never knew about or cared about Newjeans in the first place. Like if you go out and look there are plenty of groups who are aguably more similar but you don't see their fans saying people are going to mix them up, sure they may yell about copying but they are never outright confusing the groups they claim to Stan. You could make a fair case of Ateez and Stray Kids ccppyig each other (they aren't) using selective evidence such as both having 8 members, strong edm discography and difficult dance steps, which can occasionally overlap. But you will never see even a casual stan of either group mistaking one for the other

When MHJ crashes and burns, I hope all the people helping her realizes the damage they've done to their reputations. Also, and it could just be me but Illit gives me Red Velvet/Loona vibes more than NJ. If these plagiarism claims go through, this is going to affect every single person involved in the music industry.

I do think that Hybe made Illit as a way to have a New Jean's like group they could control without MHJ but I also think that MHJ is using New Jeans as a front to push her own agenda. I don't believe she really "loves" them. Both things can be true at the same time. Still, I think that no concept is exclusive. Also I find New Jeans concept more urban and "aesthetic" while Illit is more sweet like.

I used to criticise international fans who used to complain about K-Netz before but now that I have more exposure and knowledge of the kpop community, I see it. K-Netz are insensitive and the kind of people to ride whatever train is coming their way first, much better when it's young and innocent kind of concept. Though International fans might not be all good. During this controversy, I saw a larger number of International fans trying to go for facts and stay neutral.
